Can't we just force websites to respect the DNT header and ban them from showing a separate cookie banner in that case why is that not the way it works already

Here's a fun idea: What if we had a database of known consent cookies and a browser extension that would just send them all to every website by default?

Does that exist? Does maybe ublock already do that?

@jreusch the cookie banner is intentionally annoying and difficult to navigate. they resent the need to not track you so they're using a dark pattern: To decline cookies is many clicks, complex language, not remembered between sessions and different for each website. To let them track you is an easy one-click "Accept All" button, always visible and similar across sites.

Yeah unfortunately - that's why the ECJ already decided that the accepting and declining have to be the same number of clicks, and things can't be pre-selected

I didn't say "force" because I believed they would do it voluntarily 😅
