Cached US Kindle giveaway: 10 copies of Scott Lynch's The Lies of Locke Lamora (Gentleman Bastards, Book 1), which I *have* and *have* read. I liked this book a lot; I was much less happy with the second, and never read past that.

This is a terribly fun story about cons, a fantasy version of Leverage sorta. Anyway.

As usual: feel free o claim one, or tell other people about the giveaway, or both!

@kithrup Speaking of fantasy heist novels, I trust you've discovered Patrick Weekes' Rogues of the Republic trilogy? That's also great fun.
@mithriltabby No, never even heard of it. Getting the first one now.

@kithrup

They go up and down quite a bit. As I recall I didn't like the second one as much, though I don't remember why, but I kept reading.

Some of the later ones are as much fun as the first. There's one that has them teaming up with pirates for a casino heist - shades of Ocean 11 - and that was great.

Scott Lynch has been open about troubles with major depression, and that has really thrown a wrench into his writing.

@CliftonR My problem with the 2nd one was the same as my problem with the 2nd John Wick film: we start out with lawful evil characters, in a society that is full of rules, and they are required to be unlawful. If that makes sense?
