the thing that always gets me about mastodon is I feel like there's a culture of constantly stating rules and pre-emptively condemning anyone who might break them, which I guess is good for some people but for my mindset I end up feeling like I can't scroll my feed without feeling like I'm being berated for something or another that I didn't even do
