this is not #AI

this is not a scene from a movie

this is simply a one in a billion video shot at the right time at the right angle by a teenager in #portugal a few days ago, may 18/ 19

fucking amazing! positively biblical

#space #meteor

experts say it was a #comet fragment, a few feet wide

@benroyce I remember *seeing* one that looked almost that good, during the '85 Geminids shower. But already having a camera pointed in exactly the right direction is a far rarer thing.

@mattmcirvin

exactly

1. being there that night
2. being there that hour/ minute
3. seeing a meteor
4. seeing a meteor so big it flashes the sky
5. seeing a meteor of such a large variety it lights up the whole sky
6. having your camera on
8. capturing the meteor in frame
7. having your camera pointed in such a perfect orientation it frames you and the arc in perfect cinematic majestic harmony. you can't get better scene composition in the movies

just absolutely mind blowing odds

@benroyce (From the news articles, it sounds as if that fireball was actually way bigger than the one I saw)

@mattmcirvin

it was indeed a very rare very big one, a few feet wide they say. the color wasn't even the usual green or yellow or red (if you even get color at all), but a brilliant blue

completely lottery winning odds
