Now that I've gotten through most of my Ubuntu 24.04 upgrade issues, I can relax a bit and admire how sexy Regolith Desktop 3.1 is.

I was fine with version 2 for the record - a sweet spot between vanilla GNOME and i3. But 3.1 is a much more polished experience. Really well done, Regolith team.

@aj Did you have to do anything special to get Regolith working on 24.04? There doesn’t seem to be an official repository for noble yet.

@kauchman

Yes! I got rid of my apt sources pointing to the 2.x PPA and switched to their testing URL using the details from https://regolith-desktop.com/docs/using-regolith/install/#anatomy-of-the-regolith-apt-url-path

So I ended up with a /etc/apt/sources.list.d/regolith-desktop.sources file like:

Enabled: yes
Types: deb
URIs: https://regolith-desktop.org/testing-ubuntu-noble-amd64
Suites: noble
Components: main
Signed-By: /usr/share/keyrings/regolith-desktop.gpg

@aj thanks! I might give it a shot over the weekend

@kauchman Oh just stumbled across this, potentially relevant :)
