Woooow. There’s so few independent sites left, most major sites are now under the same roof.

Nooo, it’s not working!!!! 😭
@gamingonlinux
Good intentions but I'd never say never. You might have some big personal catastrophe and if someone bellies up with a truck full of cash at that point, I say take it.
You can always start fresh elsewhere. I'm following you, not your blog.
@gamingonlinux yeah, it’s a really sad state of affairs. when you think back how good RPS was, for example. and all that degraded real fast under gamer network. it’s not going to get better under IGN and with firings everywhere.
even if single sites technically retain something like editorial independence under such a media conglomerate, they’re being drained of the means to consistently put out any meaningful work.
@gamingonlinux god this is awful. This is most of what is left of the game journalism major companies, and they are all about to just be collapsed.
I'm glad we have a lot more indie groups in this space that are growing fairly rapidly. Skill Up has a small but powerful team working with him, and Second Wind successfully carries on a legacy that the Escapist somehow failed to maintain.
But god this sucks so much. So many of these I used to frequent as a kid, they were my main avenue for game information. I guess it is time to look to the future and leave these behind, most will get shuttered anyways.
