i think one of the main reasons of why I haven't made many new original pixel arts is that I want to add some kind of meaning to them, rather than doing them just because

silly animals redraws are silly, fanart is portraying things in my style, but I wanna make my originals stand out from the rest, y'know, but it's hard to come up with new meanings for each one of them
