The biggest open air market in the county has deteriorated over the past decade.

One reason, I have discovered after going there again today for the first time since Lockdown, is that Sainsbury has built a store in what was disused business park land right next door. So of course there are no more groceries stalls in the weekly open air market. Apart from one pie vendor fighting a valiant rearguard action.

@JdeBP We've got one greengrocer's in a small town near me that seems to be surviving, despite a lot of other shops closing. I think it's because he sells decent veggies that are more expensive than the supermarket, but you don't need to buy 2 cauliflowers because they're too small.... 🙂
