This cardinal has been pecking at my windows for hours now. I have never known a cardinal to peck at my windows in all the years I’ve lived here. I’m at a loss as to how to help him. It’s not the reflection, there is none, I’ve checked. My friend says that when a cardinal tries to get into your house it’s a ghost from your past trying to give you bad news but that friend also believes in astrology, so there’s that. Any birdy types know what might REALLY be driving this behavior? #birds #Birding

UPDATE: in a white-hot flash of genius, it occurred to me to simply lower all the shades. I’m not sure why it worked, since the shades are on the inside and would seemingly have no effect on the windows’ outside reflectivity, but somehow this gambit was a success. The cardinal has returned to the trees, fruitlessly pecking no more. A huge relief; the constant tapping was giving the Pom fits.
