Responsible #professional #journalism in our 21st century🏆
"Eventually, I'll come to e point in my work when I hv to leave neutrality behind & seek #objectivity.. Tt doesn't mean taking a side in e political sense. It means taking e side of e #truth.. It's particularly hard when you r interviewing someone on live TV or radio, where u must push back against #falsehoods in real-time.. It's my job to question, to push back - &, yes, #callout e lies when they are uttered"

For journalists, neutrality is not the goal

My ability to be neutral as a political journalist depends on the intellectual honesty of the people -- and the society -- I cover.

"It doesn't hv to be confrontational or uncivil, but it is key to doing my job #responsibly.. Neutrality alone doesn't cut it when u're faced w someone who is lying, obfuscat'g, or being intellect'ly dishonest, it's also a mistake to see objectivity in tis kind of situat'n as taking a side oth than e side of e truth.. Bec e role of a #journalist is to seek, uncover, & broadcast e truth. W/o fear or favour. W/o my own beliefs getting in e way. Even if, in tis moment, it is harder than ever."
