Stan K9SWXI recently picked up the new Yaesu SSM-BT20 Bluetooth headset to pair with my Yaesu FT5DR. So far I am impressed with the audio. I also tested it with my Icom 705. Check out my video review for more details.
Alper@k9swx Amazing review. Thanks for sharing. I would like to ask if you have tested to pair it simultaneously with a radio and a phone? Afaik some headsets can do that.
Also can you comment on how comfortable to tap that ptt button when you are wearing it? Is it too hard like you feel the pressure on your ear?
@alper Sorry just saw your questions.
You can only pair it with one device at a time. It did pair with my iPhone just fine but not at the same time as the FT5. I had to shut off bluetooth or tell it to forget the device on my phone to get it to sync back with the FT5.
As for the PTT button, I find it's better to grip the headset with your thumb when you press the PTT otherwise there could be a little pressure in the ear.
