How I saw it:
He is pointing out unpopular opinions such as his for Marriage Equality may not win elections, but they can make change none the less. That you have to have some courage of conviction. That being on the vanguard of an idea is difficult but that is what leadership is.
There are different ways of measuring success & these advances are at risk & need protecting. Vigilance. Respecting. Defending.
@JoBlakely @rbreich sure didn’t! I was referring to the title. I’m at work, watch it this evening. Thinking on it, I probably won’t. I don’t engage clickbait titles. It’s a rule. I’m sure it’s a fine video, I like Mr. Reich’s stuff, generally. I just can’t reward “I’ve been saying this for 20 years and now y’all agree with me” titles.
