Last week, I went to an “AI Expo” that was put on by Eric Schmidt’s think tank and funded by Palantir. It was incredibly bleak and surreal. For The Guardian, I wrote about my experience, and the people I met:

‘I’m the new Oppenheimer!’: my soul-destroying day at Palantir’s first-ever AI warfare conference

America’s military-industrial complex took center stage at AI Expo for National Competitiveness, where a fire-breathing panel set the tone

@carolinehaskins Jesus Fucking Christ. Thank you for writing this (& for putting yourself through attending the Boschian experience in the first place).
@carolinehaskins Milley isn't wrong about the Allies' deliberate mass slaughter of civilians in WW2, not to mention their ethnic cleansing of Eastern Europe and the USSR (the largest in history) that ensued immediately afterward. Anything Israel is doing in Gaza pales by comparison, even proportionally. For me, though, that doesn't make Israel right, it makes the Allies' conduct wrong (in some cases genocidal). But WW2 is the most sacred of sacred cows, and the victors (for the most part) wrote the narrative, so I doubt these atrocities will ever be officially acknowledged.
