Today, Texas Governor Greg Abbott pardoned a convicted murderer and virulent racist who, after writing text messages suggesting he would kill a protester and then claim self-defense, killed a protester and claimed self-defense. I wrote this a year ago:

Bullshit. Perry told friends he would kill a protester then claim self defense ... and then he went out and killed a protester and claimed self defense.

That isn't standing your ground, that's hunting.

He basically disagreed with the juries interpretation of the facts. What constitutional provision gives the Governor the power to reverse a jury verdict.
