Half of the arguments in your article don't even apply to the performance and interpreter in question here, though, and the other half is such a wild mixture of serious arguments and partly questionable 'Kreuzberg activist' equations between half-digested concepts of translation, appropriation &colonialism to boot that I'd appreciate a more serious discussion in the appropriate context rather than an edgy SM comment thrown in w/poop&porn references.
@NaMi https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inspiration_porn i will use Inspiration Sensationalism here, so i dont come of as trying to sound edgy, alright. - the point some activists are making is that the translation of music wasnt made by people with disabilities and so able bodied people shaping a language and hence a culture. i dont know and not try to say that this is a controversial topic among the whole community, rather i wanted to point out there is many ways to look at it. and this made me feel different 1/2
@NaMi about sharing short clips like these. it only serves mentioned purpose and not to share the musical piece of displayed artist and their translation rather inspirational sensationalism. :/
Your article criticizes specific examples of translation which are not the case here.
Also, your "not part of the community" makes a whole bunch of assumptions about the interpreter in question, not to mention your assumptions abt the clip audience &author here etc.

I didn't read the article yet but here in France, a part of the Deaf community who use sign language (deaf people and CODA) denounce cultural appropriation of hearing people who translate "signed oral language" without any respect for the sintaxis and grammar of sign language and Deaf culture. They don't care about accessibility, they use bad SL to show off in front of hearing people.
This person seems to sign "word by word" and this looks like a hearing bad translation.
