- "Hamburger" menu - which houses a TON of links in and around the site
- Search icon (links to search page)
- "Shellsharks" menu-bar logo
- Homepage splash logo
- List of latest 10 blog posts (and latest "note”)
- Link to license & disclaimer at bottom

So only 6 components. I try to emphasize my latest writing when people visit the site, rather than have them immediately start roaming around because of busy-ness
