Dan@homekitnews - With the Aqara M3 hub does it expose other IR devices via Matter or just AC’s? I am not a fan of the security system and Matter solves it not being exposed but now IR devices aren’t.
HomeKit News@dan hi, unfortunately only the AC is exposed to HomeKit, so none of the other IR devices set up will offer this. It’s unfortunate, as this option is offered by both SwitchBot Hub 2 and the Nature Remo Nano.
@homekitnews Interesting! Thank you. Very much looking to the Hub Mini (Matter). The Remo Nano I have found a lot of connectivity issues with. I find it interesting that the M3 has PoE (!!) but not the ability to disable the security system.
@dan if you do go for the AC control option, which needs you to add it to HomeKit via Matter, then you won’t get the security system added to HomeKit from the M3. As regards the Switchbot Hub mini with Matter, the company told me they’re initially only planning to sell it with their Lock Pro, but might consider selling it separately down the line - a bit odd I know!
@homekitnews Thats extremly odd. I was looking to use the IR control to control a TV so the AC option won’t be a choice. I guess back to the Remo.
