I'm trying Ubuntu on an old Dell Latitude 5480 that I got from work, but this screen blinking is making it a sub-par experience. I've tried setting a bunch of Intel graphics related arguments in /etc/default/grub to no avail. Any ideas? #ubuntu #linux #dell #troubleshooting
@gunnarsson can you give out more information about your specific laptop specs and the graphics driver on it? That would be helpful

@HoseanRC Is this helpful?

@gunnarsson that's weird...
intel have good graphics driver for #Linux already
Did you try other distros? Maybe it a specific problem with Ubuntu
@HoseanRC Only Pop, but since that's based on Ubuntu, it came as no surprise it had the same issue. What's another good distro to try these days?
@gunnarsson
I use Arch (btw), but i won't recommend it tho...
Maybe go with Fedora or plain Debian (debian would give you more access I believe)
@HoseanRC Well, now I've booted into Mint and Fedora as well, and they both blink just like Ubuntu. I assume they all use the same drivers, and that something is wrong either with the computer or those drivers. Linux doesn't like this machine.
