Mad Catz downfall as a company is honestly hilarious for how short sighted they were. Their entire business model was using low prices to trick well meaning parents into buying god awful game controllers for their kids.

Fast forward ten years to when those kids are adults and buying their own videogame hardware and no one trusts the brand because they were burned so bad as kids. Even when they did make efforts to improve themselves and later did a partnership for Rock Band nothing could save them from themselves.

@Talcott I can vouch for that. Some years ago I got myself a headset from them. It literally fell appart in less than 2 years in a nasty way. Not only that, it started glitching badly between mic and speakers, like it was entering a saturation state making a nasty noise until I reduced the volume.

Was facinated with their Ratz, but the headset was enough of an experience. Never again xD

@rayko yeup that sounds par for the course, my honest sympathies dude. The ones I remembered were all the Dreamcast mad catz gear my parents got me. The controller was so unresponsive and my Dreamcast only registered that it was plugged in half the time. Then the mad catz memory card just straight up never worked, not even when it was brand new. I even tried pairing it with a mad catz controller and still, NOTHING.
@Talcott Heh, like they say, all that glitters is not gold. I think they went bankrupt? If not they should, lol.
@rayko they went bankrupt as fuck in 2017 only to get resurrected a year later. Their ads are god awful and I'm not sure I even want to give them a second change.
@Talcott It is the reason why I have trust issues

@Talcott My only experience with them was N64 controllers. They were ... okay? I guess?

The N64 controllers had such a fatal design flaw in their stick that it almost didn't matter, all controllers were going to go to shit pretty soon, first party included.
