Just what iPad Pro needed: a spec-bump
I guess we can start the 18 month clock now on the next iPad updates. See you in 2026
@stroughtonsmith iPad Mini later this year? Or doesn't that count?
@mikecane doesn't count; doesn't move anything about iPad forward, just makes a nice smaller one
@stroughtonsmith What if it gets M4? Zoom zoom zoom.
@mikecane the mini doesn't even get Stage Manager. It's not the full iPad experience
@stroughtonsmith Yeah, I’m so disappointed. Been using an iPad Air/Pro as my only device for about six years, and just so frustrated with the incremental OS advancement. I need an iPad for my work, but I think I’m finally going to buy a MacBook Air after this totally underwhelming announcement. (Sorry, had to vent!)

@cory @stroughtonsmith I'm not making any buying decisions until after WWDC 😅

Although I probably shouldn't get my hopes up too high for iPadOS...

@markv @stroughtonsmith That’s a good point, but I want to (foolishly) imagine they would have teased a significant change…

@cory @stroughtonsmith One line that stood out to me was Ternus saying something along the lines of "The experience of using iPad Pro becomes just like using a MacBook".

Sounds like they're continuing to narrow the gap between iPad and Mac - but no idea what exactly that will mean at WWDC.

@cory @stroughtonsmith It was a hardware announcement. Software updates come at WWDC (but keep your expectations low anyway)
@stroughtonsmith maybe the virtualization story waits for WWDC next month 🙏

@stroughtonsmith Yeah, srsly.

I won't be upgrading my 2018 model until it breaks I guess. Hope I have everything backed up when that happens, because who the hell knows without a filesystem.

@stroughtonsmith Like always it feels like everything that is not art-related is not worthy of the pro word, by apple’s definition of it
@stroughtonsmith but seriously though! I’m a bit puzzled on why Apple thinks, for years, this is the way to go.
