@rbreich If not for the US spending on health care 2x what other OECD nations do as a proportion of GDP (half of which is spent by the Federal government under Medicare, Medicaid and the VA), there would be no deficit. Smashing the AMA cartel and allowing Medicate/Medicaid to negotiate volume discounts would go a long way.
