The point of disagreement seems to mostly be around what is acceptable for the IDF to do to make that happen. (answers seem to range from "immediately disband and leave the area" all the way to "keep doing what they're doing until Hamas is no more")

One major point that almost everyone seems to be missing about the situation in Gaza is that the U.S. support for Israel goes beyond just the one coastal region there north of Egypt.
Iran is aligned with our other major foreign adversaries trying to take down American democracy and while Netanyahu is also working with Putin to also do that most Israelis actually support the USA and the role we play in making the globe safer than it otherwise might be. We need their help.
