Poll: Patients Still Trust Their Physicians the Most

This Medical News article discusses a KFF poll about the public’s exposure to and beliefs about inaccurate health information, as well as media use and trust in sources.

@JoshuaHolland and lack of critical thinking definitely contributes.

@JoshuaHolland

“less so" is doing some heavy lifting here.

About of third of the sample think Ivermectin is an effective treatment for COVID; one in five think more people have died from the vaccine than the virus. Those are not small percentages.

@JoshuaHolland

Unfortunately there is no vaccine for wilful ignorance and if there was those that needed it would avoid it.

@JoshuaHolland These numbers are simply stunning. Desinformation and lack of education are a toxic combination

@JoshuaHolland Just to be clear, are the reddish lines the percentage of people in general or the percentage of people who "heard or read the false claim"?

It's the difference between one in 5 and one in 12 believing more people died of the vaccine than the Covid virus (although either number is horrific).

@severtz it’s the share of respondents who buy the claims, not the share of those who heard them.
@JoshuaHolland disinformation is effective on stupid people
