The most die-hard #American partisans have to acknowledge they are not better off than they were 4 years ago, and that is causing all sorts of #CognitiveDissonance.

Partly due to the #FogOfWar to remember an accurate status of *what was happening* 4 years ago.

I think it’s easy to forget a couple of things:

- we are not representative of the body politic, the majority of which is made up of low-information voters who are tuned out until after July 4th, or Labor Day of an election year, at best

- inflation has eaten up many gains, life is expensive, and wages are stagnant, making the quality life worse
