This tragedy hasn’t gotten the attention it deserves.

Frank Tyson, a 51 year old Black man, is dead after police tackled him and pinned him with a knee on his back. He gasped “I can’t breathe” 7 times & cops told him to “Shut the f**k up, you’re fine.”

The Canton Police Department in Ohio has released body camera video from the night a 53-year-old man died after he repeatedly told officers “I can’t breathe” as he was handcuffed with his hands behind his back and he was pinned to the ground.

I try to keep up with news but am always digging into cyber content and sometimes I miss important stuff. Serious change is obviously needed, and change is usually hard, generally, for people. We have to do better. so very sad.

@QasimRashid There’s a reason this keeps happening. Americans are perfectly fine when cops kill “those people”. If we weren’t okay with this, we’d demand that police change their tactics and hold them accountable when they fail to do so.

@QasimRashid. In 2020, George Floyd, a 46-yr-old black American man, was murdered in Minneapolis by Derek Chauvin, a 44-yr-old white police officer. Floyd had been arrested after a store clerk alleged he made a purchase using a counterfeit $20 bill. Chauvin knelt on Floyd's neck for over 9 minutes while Floyd was handcuffed & lying face-down in a street.Two other police officers, J. Alexander Kueng and Thomas Lane, assisted Chauvin in restraining Floyd. #RacistCops

@QasimRashid A lot of cops seem to think that if someone can speak they can breathe, but it doesn't work that way. If their chest is compressed they might be able to exhale enough to speak, but they can barely inhale so they might not last long.
