#NonCompeteAgreements are especially challenging in small industry sectors like #AI and for non-commodity #RubyLang jobs. While already unenforceable in some places, large companies that engage in #venueshopping made this a burdensome issue for many specialists.

@todd_a_jacobs I saw it in a few niche spaces as a software engineer - avionics software test, telephony, and even (believe it or not) medical transcription software.

I'm glad to see it go, but I wish it had come sooner.

@knowprose I hear you. For some folks it's too little too late. Still, "better late than never" probably applies as well.

You can certainly follow the money to answer the implicit "why now?" question. There's a lot of money riding on #AI #unicorns right now, and even if it's not said loudly that's got to be at least part of the story.
