on mobile the bird in the first panel is incredibly difficult to see and looks like a storm cloud. thus it looks like the kid is just upset for no reason.

I am on mobile and saw the bird. But maybe you didnt pay attention and gave less effort because of a smaller phone. Or you just genereally wasnt aware of it. Happens and its normal I assume

My train of thought before seeing the bird: “crying brings good luck? Then why would he tell the kid to not do it. So the kid is forcing themselves to cry while they sleep to bring them good luck, but why are they sitting on the headboard and facing the wall while doing it?”
