The primary energy fallacy: Critics of the energy transition often point to primary energy to demonstrate that the transition is going to be impossible.

But most consumed primary energy is lost after conversion.

The problem to solve is a lot smaller than primary energy suggests.

@janrosenow not to forget the energy lost on transport! (Primary source from drilling to car or power plant) and from Power Plant to household. Solar panels on the roof provide energy at the same spot, where it is needed.
@holgerpatzelt
It will still take some time for the supporters of centralized energy supply to understand the local decentralized method. Of course, centralized supply is the base of capitalism.
@janrosenow
@holgerpatzelt @janrosenow Power line transmission losses alone are 5% of all power plant power generated.
@janrosenow This fallacy is found also in infrastructure: complaining on the investments for a charging network without taking into account the resources needed to maintain refineries, fuel deposits, distribution network etc
@janrosenow Do you know of any more recent diagram? This one uses data from 2012 (https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1364032115015750?via%3Dihub#f0015). Since then a lot has changed although the message remains the same.
@janrosenow Intéressant. Mais ça doit être un problème difficile à résoudre si personne ne l'a fait. Que 100% de l'énergie par exemple d'un plan d'eau qui tombe plus bas soit converti semble complexe.
