@dschaub @atpfm @siracusa also worth noting that even tho Apple sold a 4GB base sku MBA for years, in my experience, it wasn’t actively sold or even pushed past ~2013. The one you could buy in the store for $1099 was the one with 128GB SSD and 8GB of RAM and that was the defacto base model even to they sold a 4GB.

@dschaub @siracusa @atpfm You could argue that the 4GB stretch was much worse. I’ve used a 8 GB Air for work (including programming) as a stop gap until the M1 Pro came out, and it was fine.
