In London, where I live, the Mayor implemented a Low Traffic Neighbourhoods (LTN) during the later lockdowns. It outraged the car-driving libertarians (marches), but has proved to be a resounding success. My street is no longer overwhelmed by rat running cars, and the air a way better.
