The sentencing and “punishment” for the car driver who killed a 4-year-old last year is unacceptable and sets a dangerous precedent for San Francisco and the rest of the country, suggesting killing someone with a car is a minor offense.

Luke Bornheimer’s Statement on 4th & King Settlement

@LukeBornheimer What do you think about making 4th St a car-free transit mall between King and Townsend, and moving the T stop to that block? As with West Portal, it's a busy transit hub and there just don't need to be cars right there, imo.
@scott Love it! I also think King Street should have one travel lane converted to a protected bike lane in each direction: makes the entire area safer, helps more people shift trips away from cars, and decreases car traffic, demand for parking, noise, and air pollution.
