The dude who torched himself outside of the Trump trial's substack. I think lots of people want to shoehorn him as a MAGA or a Biden supporter. "See, that's what you get." Reading his substack, he was just anti-the official story, notably anyone with a couple dimes to rub together. He was very fixated, it seems, on the idea the economy is just one huge Ponzi scheme. I don't want to debate here any of those points. The reality is there's some reality in most conspiracy theories but, you know, nuance is beyond them. That's why they went down the hole. But, what struck me about his substack was he was actually a pretty good writer. This was no cave-dwelling MAGA chud selling boner pills to pay for a ticket to NASCAR. He saw all the cameras on the trial and his was his last chance to make his message relevant. Sad, in a way, otherwise smart and creative people go down this hole.
