simpleAre you talking about Jeff Kaplan…? He was against making a sequel, and was against locking heroes behind a battle pass.
He is the one that still wanted to make Project Titan work. Overwatch was the crawl, PvE was suppose to be the walk and then they’d have the run with the MMORPG.

@Sean882821 Overwatch director Jeff Kaplan wanted to make a sequel centered on PvE. He spent several years helming it, then left Blizzard in 2021. A new leadership group took over and for various reasons they pivoted back to PvP. Would have been way too late at that point to nix the sequel
