's new AI at work draft bill, which is launching today https://www.tuc.org.uk/research-analysis/reports/ai-bill-project
The AI Bill Project

The TUC has been conducting a four-year project on the use of AI in the employment relationship, assisted by a trade union working group (The TUC AI Working Group. This project has focused on algorithmic management. We have undertaken research, commissioned a legal report, published a manifesto for change and guidance for trade union reps.

The Artificial Intelligence (Regulation and Employment Rights) Bill - to give it its full title - is a great step towards getting clear regulations on AI in the workplace, ensuring transparency and fairness for workers, and rights to redress against black box management decisions.
It's been put together with a stellar cast of experts from the worlds of work and tech - including Cambridge Uni's Minderoo Centre, Ada Lovelace Insitute, CIPD, British Computer Society, trade unions and cross-party MPs - and drafted by Cloisters Chambers' AI Law Consultancy.
It's a thorough and ready-made resource for any government that wants to tackle the urgent challenges of AI in the UK's workplaces. Now we need the political will to make use of it.
Key provisions to make a big difference:
* Compulsory Workplace AI Risk Assessments for new systems, to be shared with workers.
* Direct consultation rights for workers & unions.
* Registers of AI systems making risky work decisions.
* Rights to explanation and human reconsideration of decisions.
