I wrote about my journey that started as an experiment to see how my Threads feed would look like on Mastodon and ended with me finding experiences that went above and beyond my expectations. A post in which I try my hardest not to rant about lists.

Later this year when Fediverse Threads completely federates, the social web ecosystem is going to get a lot more exciting and I'm so ready for that future.

Did you literally type in every single handle you follow on Threads, or did you automate it?

I downloaded my Threads data from IG then automated a conversion. Since then I've noticed other people switch on Fediverse integration so I've been doing them one by one as I find them but I'll likely do another download soon.

I couldn't figure out how to do this. I downloaded my IG data and it didn't seem to have Threads data in it.

Here's what I did:
Accounts Center > Your information & permissions > Download your information > Instagram > Some of your information

Under "Your Instagram Activity" there *should* be a line item for Threads second-to-last. Then from there when you arrive at the Create files page you can change the format from HTML to JSON.
