It’s #KPopMonday, the theme is #SuitDance, and I am cackling.
Because, for a while, #VIXX’s stage outfits were largely concept-ified suits.
But let’s start with this dance practice, which iirc was a present for either streaming the MV or first win.
Mostly because, despite it missing the jackets, this might be among the more conventional of the suits I’m gonna showcase.
Keeping the #KPopMonday, #SuitDance ball rolling, we’re going from missing suit jackets in Dynamite, to missing shirts and ties in Chained Up. They’re wearing collars though, that’s close enough to a tie, right?
… I’ve been informed I’m thinking of the wrong kind of tie.
Anyway, here’s #VIXX, in suits I refuse to call burgundy.
And as a bonus, here they are in tops that look like they’re a hybrid between a suit jacket and a button down shirt:

So, uh… While I don’t plan to do this with every #VIXX MV, I think the Chained Up one should be here, too, as they wear two different suits during the performance bits.
Also, because it’s just pretty, and there’s lots of good shots of two of my ult biases: #ChaHakyeon and #JungTaekwoon
This really was Leo and N’s era.

(There are other performances of Shangri-La where #VIXX does wear hanboks, but that was later on, in the resurgence of this song.)

Want vampires in suits but don’t want them to be classical vampires? #VIXX has got you covered, with “On and On/“다칠 준비가 돼 있어”— the song that started them on the path to becoming crowned Concept Kings.
Incidentally, the Korean title translates to “(I’m) ready to get hurt”— a running theme in their songs from this point on.
With his silver hair, this really was N’s Era. Leo’s blood/wine red works well too.
Remember how I said that being“ready to get hurt” will become a running theme for #VIXX? In Voodoo Doll (their first win!) it reaches its logical conclusion. So much so that the choreo had to be changed, due to self destructive imagery.
The concept is: poppets for their love interest. Their suits reflect this, being damaged and “clumsily” stitched together like they’re a bunch of rag dolls.

I rewrote that a lot, bc I realized I wanted to talk about the suits more in the actual post. That said, despite the fact that N and Leo are my biases, this era really was Hongbin’s with his asymmetrical bangs and smokey eyes.
In the MV, he also had set of iconic contact lenses which I ended up ordering in from Malaysia, bc literally none of the knockout lenses in the US were quite right.
So, for this #KPopMonday entry, I was torn which stage to show. The one where the suit has a unique element, since the theme is #SuitDance, or the one where you can actually see the choreo properly. 
Anyway, During #VIXX’s Eternity/기적 era, they sometimes wore these button down shirts with what seemed like an abstract line pattern. On closer inspection, and to the surprise of many Starlights, the pattern repeatedly spells out VIXX. 
And here is #VIXX performing Eternity in blue suits with a faint plaid pattern.
This time, with some very neat choreo that you can actually see.
And finally. One last #VIXX video for #KPopMonday and #SuitDance. A performance of Amnesia on #1theK, that’s actually called a suit dance.
Though in this context, Suit seems to mean Mafia vibes. Especially with the shirt Hyuk is wearing having a design that looks almost like a shoulder holster?
