If I called it the business fraud case (since he made false entries to hide the payoff), you would have to ask "which one?"
If I called it the election fraud case (since the payoff was made to hide info from the public before the election), you would have to ask "which one?"
Those more accurately describe the crime, but I think we call it the hush money case so everyone understands which case we mean.
