Uncached US Kindle giveaway: 15 (yes, 15!) copies of @patricksamphire's Shadow of a Dead God (Mennik Thorn Book 1), which I read *today* and liked so much I decided to buy some on-sale copies of it to give away. Thus 15 copies!
It reminded me of a bunch of things, and is unique as a result. The *biggest* thing is that Our Hero, Mennik Thorn, is very very reminiscent of Vlad Taltos and Harry Dresden, back at the beginning.
He is extremely cocky, and far less competent than that requires, and he keeps getting hurt, but keeps going. Sound familiar yet? (The *tone* is too different for me to compare him to October Daye, but there is otherwise overlap. It seems I have a style I like.)
The mystery, at the end, doesn't hold up great, I think, but it's *good enough*, and ensures I will be putting the next one on the TBR.
