Russia [https://cnn.com/videos/world/2024/04/10/zelensky-ukraine-us-aid-russia-pleitgen-sot-cnc-vpx.cnn] destroyed the largest power-generating plant in Ukraine’s [https://www.cnn.com/2024/04/11/europe/ukraine-parliament-scrap-demobilization-plans-intl/index.html] Kyiv region in a missile attack on Thursday, as President Volodomyr Zelensky accused the West of “turning a blind eye” to his country’s need for more air defenses. Ukraine’s Air Force said it shot down 18 of the incoming missiles and 39 of the drones. Russia fired 82 missiles and drones in total, including six hypersonic Kinzhal missiles – none of which Ukraine’s air defenses were able to down. There were no casualties, and the attack has not resulted in power cuts in Ukraine’s capital region Kyiv or other regions supplied by Trypilska TPP.

“Those attacks could have a knock-on effect in terms of the global energy situation. Ukraine is better served in going after tactical and operational targets that can directly influence the current fight.”

Maybe not privately, but publicly via press statement from the Secretary of Defense.

You forgot to add after the fact, we’ll after an article was published.
My original comment was directly referencing this press statement to begin with, not some random outdated article you posted after the fact.
How could that be when the US never made that request, according to the Ukrainians?
You’re arguing about something completely different than what any of my comments or references here have claimed. The US government is whining about Russian oil refineries being hit. It’s a simple established fact.
The you haven’t expressed yourself well enough to
for those curious like me, wikipedia says this was a coal/diesel plant
