This is how it feels when I “call in a sick day”
Those days are valid sick days, since if your mental health is so bad that you need a sick day to cope, you need that sick day. Mental healthcare is healthcare. Fight me on that.
I had a math teacher in college who, on the first day of class, told an anecdote about her first boss. This boss told her on her first day that “sick of work” was a perfectly valid reason for calling in sick. That’s someone that has stuck with me and I share that sentiment with new reports.
