Hmm… I would say… this is not a very good error message.

Anybody want to give me advice on how to back up everything important from an Android phone? Assume I have about… eight hours and somewhere in there I have to sleep.

I guess I'm using adb, but I barely know what I'm supposed to be grabbing, also neither adb pull nor the https://github.com/jb2170/better-adb-sync tool google says to use is like… y'know… doing anything…

@mcc maybe this is not what you're looking for, but Samsung has a "Smart Switch" app that copies the whole phone to another phone. I *think* you're still able to use the original phone (no guarantee).
@morten_skaaning sounds nice. also sounds like you need a samsung toh
@mcc @morten_skaaning nope, just recently my wife had to send her flip for repair. smart switch does not back up everything, not even close. luckily a lot of it I backed up manually per app, but we still lost some files.
@mcc @morten_skaaning Since Android 12 setting up another Android device with your old device is able to transfer most of the existing app data. Unfortunately still not exactly everything, but it at least improved.
@tsrberry @morten_skaaning For the record in my use case the device is effectively going into a shredder in about 7 hours and I will not get my replacement device for some weeks.
