Regrets, I've had a few

One, it's not terrible or sad, but when my eldest was about 6 they did a drawing of an imaginary machine/contraption. They started explaining it and it soon became clear they were trying to invent perpetual motion (unprompted, just came up with the idea). As part of the conversation I brought up friction in the equation, to which they pointed to an already included solution in the diagram.

6 years old. Inventing/Thinking about perpetual motion for fun. Considering friction and other negative factors.

6 years old.

So yeah, they finally got diagnosed as Autistic at 18. Slow handclap British special educational needs provision.

My regret is not still having that picture, it was fucking genius.
