I am (perhaps shamefully) delighted by this kind of booze writing:

> The finish is a delightful mix of Cinnamon Twizzlers, burnt marshmallows, Werther’s chewy caramels, and red hots in apple cider, leaving behind a warmth akin to spicy citrus cinnamon and comforting apple pie.

@pluralistic I always thought weed culture couldn't get any sillier, but now with legalization there's the bourgeois "cannabis culture" offshoot which is replete with all that sommelier double talk jargon with a few of the terms swapped out. It rides that same line between amusing and insufferable

@mrcompletely
I feel like that was already a thing long before legalization, at least here in Canada. It's just become more publicly visible now.

@mnemonicoverload @pluralistic yeah, it's been an aspect of the west coast herb world for a long time, that's true. But it was a minor thing. Now it's been picked up as a marketing angle. Destigmatizing and segmenting the market are both actually good things, but in marketing terms targeted at the upper and striving classes it's just draped in pretension.

I respect those who "use cannabis as a medicine or mood stabilizer", but I still just smoke weed to get high, so the language feels goofy

@pluralistic @mrcompletely Personally I've always found it a bit ridiculous, for sure. It's just not new. lol
