4/5: Meng Xi Shi’s “Thousand Autumns” third volume opens with Yan Wushi being attacked by five other martial artists who work together to defeat him. There is no honour in this type attack but it is effective, which leaves him so badly injured that he would most certainly have died if Shen Qiao’s had not rescued him. Despite Yan Wushi’s betrayal in the previous volume, Shen Qiao saves him and spends the next section of the book, helping him heal.
