Crosspost to Chemistry mastodon (cc@[email protected]): I used to be more tapped into the UK chemed than I am these days, so when a friend (40s) asked about sites to brush up on their A-level chem, I realised some of my ideas were a bit out of date. Can you help? Thanks in advance
@L_howes I have no idea what "A level" means, but I think not much have changed when it comes to the basics of chemistry. I mean there is a lot of new stuff, but very few revolutions. Quantum dots and how they interact with light is fairly new I guess? Halogenated solvents falling out of favor? Solid-state peptide synthesis? Advances in NMR?
@Methylzero Sorry, was using A level (an exam qualification) to describe the sort of things you'd learn at the 16-18 age.
