It’s fine honey, I got this covered.
Hello officer, I got some Elder with me. Never leave home without them!
Nice I really like it.
You’re dropping recomendations for the majority of the comments here, mad respect!
Have some Stonefield as a treat.
Thanks man, I appreciate the props.
Devin Townsend is the shit!
Here are two of my favorite songs from his solo project.
Leipa - Reue (same guy as Kanonenfieber)
Samsas Traum - Ein Fötus wie du
Agrypnie - Am Ende der Welt Teil 2
Here’s few of my favorites
One of my favorites from Kiuas as it also contains part where they sing in Finnish :P More popular songs are “Warrior Soul” and “Kiuassault”.
Turmion Kätilöt - Vastanaineet
2 Times Terror - Ikävässä Paikassa (side project of Turmion Kätilöt)
Children Of Bodom - Are You Dead Yet?, also Oops I Did It Again! is epic 😁
Bring Me The Horizon ft. Babymetal - Kingslayer
Star-Lord band - Zero to Hero (from Guardians of the Galaxy game)
Noora Louhimo is a goddess. What a voice! (The singer of Battle Beast).
I've seen her live and I tell you, she somehow sounds even better?!
I’m going to show my age here, and metal is such a large genre I don’t always know what counts. Hopefully there’s some new ones for some folks that you’ll enjoy as much as I do. (Listen to them on a dedicated music platform like Spotify if you can, the quality is better than YouTube basically every time).

alien weaponry. Kiwi band that have a lot of Maori (nz indigenous people/language) in their music.
red. Christian metal band, but still good for non Christians since it’s just based on Christian values not directly worship.
Spotify links cuz I’m lazy — not in any particular order:
"Kardashev is a progressive death metal band hailing from Tempe, AZ, whose lyrics focus on the advancement of the human race through themes of technology, selflessness, love, and altruism. They’ve done away with complexity and flashiness to take root in the beautiful and minimal. Given their positive take on death metal, their style has been jokingly referred to as “life metal,” and they also embrace the genre tag “deathgaze” (death metal + shoegaze) which perfectly describes their ambient death metal approach. "
Some sick Pacific Northwest metal/hardcore to checkout:
There’s SO MUCH good modern hardcore music here right now that I’m barely scratching the surface, but hopefully at least one of these does something for you!
2 track album
Nightwish - Dark Chest of Wonders
Blind Guardian - Imaginations From the Other Side
Whitesnake - Crying in the Rain
Armored Saint - Upon My Departure
The Black Mages - Hunter’s Chance
Twisted Sister - Under the Blade
Ugly Kid Joe - Jesus Rode a Harley
Alice Cooper - Feed My Frankenstein
…yes, I’m old.
Not a huge metal person, but coming from a rock background, I’ve really been into Bad Omens lately. They have a kinda alternative sound to them imo.
No no, we don’t say that anymore.
Now we say “I’ve got a lovely bunch of coconuts”
Incidental recommendation for Morphine - far from a metal band, but a 3 piece bass/sax/drums unit that inspired Primus.
I knew Primus Sucks! Has been gone for a while, I just see it still from time to time. I guess I should stop haha.
Is that actually the new saying? I haven’t seen them in years. Sadly.
Morphine is great, I am not as well-versed with them compared to Primus. But they are good. Does their bassist only use 2 or 3 strings? Or am I thinking of another band?
Nah it’s not new, Claypool said it on stage once in the late 90s or early 2000s but it just sticks with me, haha. I’ve never had the pleasure of seeing them, unfortunately. Someday I hope!
I think the dude uses 2 strings actually, I’d forgotten that particular detail! Generally kind of plays them both at once too, little power chords. Delighted to hear you know them, I feel like they’re one of those acts that you feel like nobody knows until you discover them and suddenly everyone knows them
Exactly my thoughts. I’ve only seen Primus once long ago. Was also at a festival with a “VIP” area that I didn’t pay for. So I was like at least 40 m from the stage. I’d like to see them again, maybe in a smaller venue.
Can’t actually remember how I came across morphine, but being a bassist, the 2 sting thing was crazy/awesome.
Bloodywood has a hold in my heart. Truly fun metal. Bloodywood - Gadaar
Arka'n Asrafokor is the band I'd push the hardest. Effing talented Arka'n - Walk with us

artist - recommended album (spotify link)
