There is no eclipse. This is obviously a ginormous American government conspiracy to make you think there's an eclipse. It's just a satellite going around... Wait a sec...
Btw, I'm only sort of joking. I had a conversation with someone who studied these communities and the logic was basically this in a nutshell. All phenomena was a conspiracy of some sort to make us believe the earth is round
Well obviously, the sun is fake right? Just a big halogen light they drag around the sky to fool us. And OCCASIONALLY they need to change the bulb, and that makes it go dark in the middle of the day. Solar eclipse!

I don't know about atmospheric refraction of lasers, but I wonder if that would be a useful tool to do the existent again.
