@sundogplanets Oh, nice! Maybe it wouldn't hurt to explain that these models are based on spherical planets with elliptical orbits and lots of eclipse chasers would be very upset if the Earth was flat having followed these maps! Although there is no reason to bring it up if not questioned...

Btw, I'm only sort of joking. I had a conversation with someone who studied these communities and the logic was basically this in a nutshell. All phenomena was a conspiracy of some sort to make us believe the earth is round
RalfMaximusWell obviously, the sun is fake right? Just a big halogen light they drag around the sky to fool us. And OCCASIONALLY they need to change the bulb, and that makes it go dark in the middle of the day. Solar eclipse!

@PoLaRobs Even back then the crowd of #ScienceDeniers was petulant when Wallace did the experiment correctly.
"Hampden subsequently published a pamphlet alleging that Wallace had cheated, and sued for his money. Several protracted court cases ensued, with the result that Hampden was imprisoned for threatening to kill Wallace and for libel."
I don't know about atmospheric refraction of lasers, but I wonder if that would be a useful tool to do the existent again.
Franz Kanngießer@Brad_Rosenheim @PoLaRobs Couple of years ago, some flatearthers provided experimental evidence for the curvature of the Earth using a light beam. The Netflix documentary "Behind the Curve" shows the experiment. (Of course, they claimed to have made some unspecified mistake.)
