zenkat@jaykuo Have you read Naomi Klein's _Doppleganger_? Excellent book. It explores the connections between misinformation, anti-vax scares, social-media-driven anxiety, political radicalism and "diagonalism", and the global rise of the authoritarian populist right. Highly recommended.
