@SOUP HexChat is still working fine and should work for a while. It's open source, so if changes are needed in the future, they will be made.

Personally, since I was using a bouncer anyway, I moved from ZNC to Heisenberg hosted on my Matrix server.
Since I got access to Beeper, I now have a single client for multiple chats now.
