@deviantollam @briankrebs I've been testifying to Colorado legislative committees in support of a bill working through the statehouse to regulate deepfake AI in electioneering communications (https://leg.colorado.gov/bills/hb24-1147) and I'm planning to testify to a Senate committee about this in the coming week.

I'm definitely referencing this video in my testimony. It's the canonical example of the danger this guardrail-free tech poses to our very basic understanding of what constitutes "ground truth" - once this reaches a quality level where artefacts are eliminated, how will we ever trust any recorded audio or video ever again? And it isn't hard to imagine how political candidates, or malicious political operatives, will abuse this in myriad ways.
